Patrick McGrail began his military service at the age of twenty when he enlisted as a Military Police Officer serving in the 1991 Persian Gulf War. He returned to the Middle East nearly 20 years later in command of a 128 Soldier company conducting convoy security missions throughout Iraq for which he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Hollis could feel the tears pooling in his eyes. "I'm really going to miss you Dad," he said.
“I’ll be as close as the moon," his father said. “The moon you see is the same one I’ll see from the middle of the desert."
"Every night, I’ll tell the moon I love you and if you listen, you can hear me when the moon comes back around."
